Weatherford has one of the oldest open-air markets in Texas called First Monday Trade Days. This monthly event steeped in tradition has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Weatherford. In the mid-1800s, local farmers and merchants would buy, sell, or trade their produce, livestock, and other handmade crafts to large crowds gathered at the monthly legal trials at the courthouse. It has since evolved into a market where vendors can sell their goods and showcase their items along with innovative attractions to encourage buyers.

You can find anything at the First Monday Trade Days from unique gifts, antiques, farm and ranch supplies, jewelry, plants, furniture, second-hand bargains, crafts, collectibles, artworks, pottery, iron works, tools, and great food!

 

Parker County Peach Festival

Known as the Peach Capital of Texas because of the peaches produced by local growers, an ant celebrating the peach is held in Weatherford called the Parker County Peach Festival, which is the largest event in Weatherford and one of the best-attended festivals in Texas

If you want great barbecue, go to the Mesquite Pit. For burgers, there’s Kincaid’s Burgers, a famous burger joint in Fort Worth that opened in Weatherford recently.
